Our Process
Let’s Talk
Tell us what you’re after—whether it’s a home, studio, or commercial pod. We’ll listen to your ideas, answer your questions, and help you explore the right design for your needs, your site, and your budget.
Site Assessment & Feasibility
We’ll review your land, assess access and site conditions, and confirm local council requirements. This helps us plan ahead and make sure your pod fits perfectly with no surprises down the track.
Design & Quote
Choose from one of our proven designs or work with us to customise a layout that’s just right for you. Once the design is locked in, we’ll provide a clear, all-inclusive quote—no hidden costs, just straight talk.
Approvals & Paperwork
We take the hassle out of permits. From council approvals to engineering reports and energy ratings, we manage all the documentation to keep things moving smoothly.
Off-Site Construction
Now the magic begins. Your pod is built in our Tasmanian facility by skilled local trades. Off-site construction means no weather delays, tight quality control, and a faster build from start to finish.
Site Prep & Delivery
While your pod is being built, we prepare your site—level it, set up services, and get everything ready for delivery. Once complete, we transport your pod and install it on-site with care and precision.
Handover & Move-In
We’ll walk you through your new space, make sure everything’s spot on, and hand over the keys. Then it’s time to move in and enjoy your new modular home—built to last and made for Tassie living.
FAQs – The Podmatrix Process
Have questions about our process? Explore these quick answers to gain clarity and confidence in every step of The Podmatrix Process.
What is The Podmatrix Process?
The Podmatrix Process is our streamlined, end-to-end approach to building modular homes in Tasmania. It covers everything from your first consultation and site assessment to design, approvals, off-site construction, delivery, and final handover—making the journey simple, transparent, and stress-free.
How does Podmatrix manage approvals and site preparation?
Podmatrix takes care of all council approvals, permits, and necessary documentation on your behalf. While your pod is being built off-site, we also prepare your land—ensuring it’s leveled, serviced, and ready for smooth delivery and installation.
How long does the full process take?
From initial consultation to move-in day, The Podmatrix process typically takes 8–112 weeks, depending on your design, site conditions, and council approvals already being in place.
Can I make changes during the build?
Minor changes may be possible early in the process, but once construction begins, the design is locked in to avoid delays and added costs. We’ll work closely with you during the design phase to make sure everything is spot on before we build.
Do I need to organise council approvals myself?
Nope—we handle that for you. We manage all planning permits, building approvals, and compliance paperwork so you don’t have to stress about the red tape. If you would like to handle the council approvals yourself then you’re more than welcome to! Having prior Council approvals will mean that you’re in you new Podmatrix home sooner.
What kind of site preparation is needed?
We’ll assess your site during the early stages and let you know what’s required. Typically, we need access for delivery vehicles (Cranes, Trucks, Excavators), and connection points for services like power and water.
One of they key differences between us and our competitors is that we also offer service connections for power, water, sewerage along with fencing, landscapes & driveways so that your new Podmatrix home is ready to go from day 1.
How is the pod delivered and installed?
Your completed pod is transported from our factory and carefully installed on-site using a crane and truck. Our team will handle the full setup and connection to services, so you’re ready to move in.
Will I need to be on-site during the build?
Not at all. Because your pod is built off-site, you won’t need to deal with daily disruptions or trades on your property. We’ll keep you updated throughout the process and only need access to your land when it’s time for delivery and installation.
How many bedrooms do your designs go up to?
We offer a variety of sizes to suit any application. From a small site office up to 108 squares or 18 x 6 meters. If you need something larger we have the ability to join 2 of our designs together to make a 6 bedroom 2 bathroom home.
